Ok so I have abed of onions which are now fallen and ready for lifting and drying. What do I do with the bed afterwards? Can anything go in after or is it too late?

brassicas!  You'll need spring cabbages, caulis, kales, sprouting brocs.  Winter lettuces and such.  I like spinach, so do my hens, so I sow spinach 'Bordeaux' in September

Three year rotation Brassicas

Four year rotation Potatoes

Five year rotation potatoes

so between now and good friday I have absolutely no idea if you go the potato rotation route  ;)

I hacve the same problem as I'm not a 4 year rotation.

All my potatoes are now out and dont know what I can grow there until next year.

I have brassicas else where on the plot.

You could maybe squeeze some catch crops in like radish and lettuce. I had my onions in with my roots so that's what I'll be doing before I manure it for next year's spuds.
As for after my spuds, I've been growing lots of leeks in platic planters and they go in as soon as the spuds come up. I found this worked well last year as I found missed spuds when digging up the leeks!

Call me old fashioned if you like, but having picked things up from my grandfather, I'm not sure about continual plant-harvest, plant-harvest. He used to like the soil to rest for a while after it's done its bit. Everyone seems to be in a hurry these days to squeeze a bit more out as soon as they've whipped out the previous crop.

"You're old fashioned" :!:
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I'm leaving mine bare til the spring other than an addition of manure at some point.  I took on a very weedy plot (mostly annuals) last autumn and was desperate to plant out but have been swamped with weeds so am going to spend time digging again and removing them all before they set seed again.  Have mostly managed to removed weeds before seed sets but not entirely!
