:? hi there, i am new to this, so am not sure what to do. But my broody chicken has sat on 5 eggs that i got from a local chicken suppliers and i have five beautiful chicks.
They have furry legs down the outside and the outside toe! Can anyone tell me if they are perhaps bantams or are they all born with this extra layer of feathers?

Hi Freda40, if they were largish eggs they may be cochins, small bantam sized eggs possibly pekins. An extra toe -silkie or faverolles.
A pic might help too -we all love piccies!!!

If silkies they will also have blackish skin and legs. How exciting to have mystery chickens

thankyou everso much for answering my query so quickly. They have come out in their run today for a bit of sunshine, shall try and take some pics and put them on (if i can figure it our!!).Bye for now
