Broody Hen
« on: June 18, 2008, 14:37 »
Okay.  We decided to extend our flock by 50% as the two hens we had already were not producing enough eggs to cover our needs.  We purchased 2 RIR/Leghorn crosses from a local free range farmer and they are great - two eggs a day in the 80 - 90 gram range.

However since they arrived one of our other hens has gone all broody and it has been nearly 3 weeks since she layed an egg!!  The other has decided to only lay every other day.  Is there anything I can do or will time just have to take its course?

Sorry I haven't posted for such a long time we have had another new addition to the family in the shape of a little Boy - Charles William born on 29 May 2008.

Looking forward to some assistance from the sites experts.

Regards
