Got to the stage where I don't much care what breed as long as they'll eventually lay, or have a bit of good meat on them! Don't really want commercial hybrids, but pure bred cross is ok.

I have a broody still sitting on dead in shell eggs. Would really like to raise some more chicks though, so day olds would be perfect to sneak under her. I've probably got a week - 10 days, maybe more as as she's a silkie and would probably sit forever if I let her.  :roll:

Just had a look at the poultry suppliers pages on this site and there is a place called Happy Hens which is based in Stebbing, Essex claiming to day olds all year round.  Don't know about price though.
