Why did you buy it if it's sneezing

She may recover in a few days but if not you will need some antibiotics from the vet as there are a number of respiratory infections that cause sneezing.

Hello and welcome to the forum PP  :)

Are these the first chooks you have kept?

One of mine started sneezing recently (but didn't have the runny nose) not continuously, just when she went free ranging, but it was too early in the season for pollen so I guess she was just a bit chilly  :?

She's fine now, but if it continues for more than a few days I'd suggest getting her to a vet just in case.

Was she sneezing when you bought her?  Perhaps you could have a word with the people you bought her from.  If they are a propper supplier then they should have some knowledge about whether there's any illness in the flock and shouldn't have sold her to you and perhaps should offer to refund you or provide another bird if it's not an unwell flock, however if you bought her from another hobbyist then there's no guarantee that they know what they're doing  :(

a dose of antibiotics should sort it out.

the recent weather we've been having can upset their balance and cause snuffles, same as in people.

eevie has been out of sorts for a while now. had baytril no help.

she started sneezing yesterday, then henny penny came out in sympathy.

my vet is about 10 miles away, se we went to a nearer smaller branch, vet gave me lincto spectin this time.

got home realised that i forget to ask about egg withdrawal.

that vet was then shut. so called my vet.

surprise surprise, eggy chooks cant have this medicine.

so a 20 mile round trip to get aureomycin.

no egg withdrawal, loads to treat everybody, any underlying sniffs and snuffles will be stopped before they start. and he thinks eevie will make a complete recovery. yeah :D

vet say's lots of chooky sniffs about.

but go to a vet that no chooks, wish id gone to my normal vet first.

Also, I will add, that I have had bouts of this when getting new chooks. It is in my opinion stress related. Altho mine had very little stress when moved I still gave them antibiotics cos chooks do get colds
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!!

One of mine was sneezing but she stopped now another is sneezing- she sounds like a duck quacking-  I went to the vet and got anti-biotics, he said no need to stop eating the eggs.  The first vet knew nothing about hens so I went back and saw the older man who gave me 2 syringes full of liquid and said to give 2cm in 1ltr of water.
