think my tomatoes are dying!!
« on: April 29, 2008, 20:54 »
sorry for yet another tomato problem thread !am feeling very attached to my little plants as i have watched them grow and  now they  are poorly!!  there were only 3 of them. on a sunny window.inside , in flower buckets so plenty of drainage and nice fresh compost They have been in the big buckets for about 3 weeks. One the other day had brown spots on some of the leaves so i removed leaves and plant to another window in case it was viral but think it was just scorch. Now the remaining 2 just dont seem happy. they look a bit droopy but its not for want of water nor I think too much. Just fed them some diluted tomorite solution but dont know why they seem so down! they do appear to be a bit pale as well. like this photo

its just so frustrating to grow these things and then have them keel over

Maybe, they are over fed and watered, have oedema and the like, just as with over fed people, they get big and have water retention symptoms.

I'd say they need better light, as in hardening off outside if that's possible, and also into bigger pots until you can plant them out. Hold off on the fertilizer until they're outside. Looks like you started them a bit soon.
