very excited now!
« on: April 27, 2008, 22:02 »
as you all know im a newbie to this grow your own lark! i planted some peas, beans, tomatoes, coriander and basil last weekend and they have all sprouted now!! its brillant watching my new babies growing! the peas are the best at the moment, they are going mad and its fantastic to watch. i have watched them, talked, watered, put out in sunny days and bought back in at night and so far they have bought me great joy (ok i dont get out much!! )
so today ive planted 5 different types of chilli inc jalapeno, hungarian hots etc and 2 different types of sweet peppers!
ive been keeping a diary (actually hubby has) of what we have planted, weather, etc, so we know what to do for next year!
its great cos we used to have busy, stressful lives, now stressfree (ish) and bad backs!
heres to more grow your own!

You'll need to wait for someone with 'the gift' to move it.  :)

I never get tired of watchign things grow. We did the veg thing years ago but haven't done it properly for a few years now.
It's brill to see them all developing into unique shapes and colours. All from a tiny seed. Humbling really.

I have the 'gift' - where would you like to go today - 'Grow Your Own?'?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Im new to it all as well and all mt toms are doing brilliantly, and the cucumbers are rocketing now, not to mention the chillis. We bought a polytunnel off ebay for £100, brand new. Its quite a size. Not as good as the clear plasticy ones you see (this is like a green colour) but it seems sturdy enough and as long as it does the trick. I have well and truly caught the bug now.  8)

Well I've grown stuff for more years than I care to remember but for me it's one of the best bits watching the seedlings burst through and grow with such vigour and potential, a little like kids really  :D

No. We used to have a big garden with veg patch. Then we didn't.
Now we do again.
We grew bits in pots for a few years though
