I have some black russian toms which are showing the first flowers ,however some have only 1 large flower (a bit like a small sun flower) these are also growing blind, others appear to be OK, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem ?.
Geoff.

I have but I've never bothered watching the flowers. I pay attention only when they need watering or picking of ripe fruit.

I had this last yr, growing black russian & pink brandywine.  Some of the fowers looked like dandelion flowers & others normal tom flowers.  I reckon it's normal for this strain.  They're absolutely fabulous toms though

I also found that mine did better outside than in greenhouse.

The toms are so heavy they need some support I used the little netting bags that garlic/onions come in tied to stakes or trellis.
