I came down this morning to see one of my girls huddled in the doorway, beak under wing. I opened the door and she waddled away, looking like a baby does when it has a full nappy down to its knees. Ive read the whole of this thread again for advice, I'll just keep an eye on her for now. Oooh they are such a worry arent they?

Give us a bit of history about the hen Mary.  Age, is she laying, what are her poos like, is she eating/drinking.  That sort of thing.

I dont know quite how old Doris is. We inherited her from a friend 2 years ago, and believe she was around 2 years old then. As far as I can tell, she is eating well, I cant tell which poos are hers without spending hours following her around! Im afraid I cant even tell if she is laying. I have 11 hens now and get around 8 eggs a day. Most of the rest of the flock are young, so I assume that most of the eggs come from them. I get one or two double yolkers a week, and some really huge singles, so she may well still be laying....bloomin' hopeless aren't I? Not much help at all!

It sounds like she could be having egg laying problems.  All you can do is keep an eye on her really

Do hope she picks up Normandy Mary. Aren't our girls a worry...think it's harder than with the children!!
