I have two greenhouses, one is a plastic lean to cheepo that is on my patio adjoining my house. It gets very hot during the day and retains much of the heat at night but is not of the clear plastic variety.

The second is situated in full sun and gets almost as much light and heat as the first one during the day but loses heat at night . It is a conventional glass 10 x 8 thus letting in more light.

The question to all tomato experts out there is do tomatos benefit more from heat or light???

Oh and does the same apply to corgettes, cucumbers peppers etc.

If it gets very cold at night none of these plants will like it. You could maybe put a fleece over for the night?

The shaded plastic thing should be OK, but treat it as indoors, ie, turning or tin foil, not for the shading but for the house.

Thanks, just trying to put them in the right place for this time of year to give them the best possible start. I have tomato plants that are about 6 inches
high and they appear to be doing ok.
