Butternut
Long Knee (a gift from Heidi)
Rd Kuri
Munchkin
Crown Prince
plus 3  others from Heidi, can't remember the names :?

Plus 4 types of Courgette  :tongue2:
Courgette fritters are great

Hope for a beetr growing year for these than last year!

I'm a nutter for growing squashes and courgettes. I just love the different varieties. Lost loads of plants last year due to bad weather  :(
Jumbo pink banana (just for fun)
Crown Prince (very good eater)
Festival - looks lovely and good eating
Sweet Mama
Delicata Honeyboat
Cinderella
Bon Bon (maybe)
Marina di Chioggia (for looks rather than it's culinary qualities, although I do eat it)
Loads of different courgettes but my faves are Sunburt and this year I'm growing Zephyr. Can't wait  :D

the blue NZ ones are good uns

That pretty variegated one looks like Festival or Winter Festival and I really like those. They stay cubed and are lovely fried off and used in a veggie pilaff typa thang  :D

You get various squashes and they all have different eating qualities. The Crown Prince is great cos it's thin skinned so you gets loads of orange flesh. They keep ages too  :D  It holds its shape so is good in curry.  The Sweet Mama is moshy and tastes like sweet potato so is a good one for mash mixed with spud.  I like to roast my squash off in the oven with red chilli, garlic and drizzled with oil for about 45 mins, cool, whip the skin off and then you can make soup with it or just scoff it if you can't wait

havent tried to grow ANY veg yet!! I have some squash seeds germinating (hopefully) cant remember name but some smallish patty type. Son also bought me the jumbo banana ones (blesshim) so will have to grow at least a couple of those- at least they should keep the weeds down!  has everyone started theirs off yet then???

I would like to try to grow Butternut Squash as I tried it as a soup for the first time last year and thought it was really tasty.  I'm afraid I don't know what all the other squashes are and what they taste like.  Now I have a plot I suppose I can experiment a little and try new veg!

I'm trying the small patty pan squashes, and green crooknut (edit: oops, I meant crookneck) squashes this year (from T+M).

Hopefully they'll have more success than last year's plants, which sulked and then died after being planted out

Haven't sown them indoors yet.  Sometime later this month or early next, depending on dining room table space  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I've sown a red kuri type (I can't remember the cultivar), and some very elderly butternut sprinter seeds.  If they don't come good within the next fortnight, I reckon I've still got time to buy and plant some new seeds.  Plus a couple of pumpkin varieties (claiming to be good eaters), and courgettes.  Is the pink banana one tasty?

I am going to grow squash -Turks Turban, Butternut and Pattison also courgette,- Black beauty,Venus and All green bush. The squash have to tough it out on the allotment   as do some of the courgettes,   but i can find space in one of the greenhouse beds to grow one each of the courgettes if i train them up a frame. :)
computer illiterate, a one finger typist but doggedly determined to keep up with this new technology and use it to help me on my allotment.
