top soil or compost?
« on: April 09, 2008, 10:25 »
My raised bed needs a little bit more soil in it to bring it near level to the edging. It already has lots of compost & rotted manure in it so I was wondering what i should put in to top it up? more compost or would you use top soil?

Don't see why not I would use some good topsoil, remember the compost and manure will rot down over the season so the bed will need more compast and manure ready for next year Howver, over a period of time the height of the bed will increase as you add more compost.

Really it's a case of if it needs it do other wise just let it build up over the years
