Agreed with nobby, never too many.
Any extra, slice & freeze - they freeze beautifully and you can be eating them all year round  :)

Never too many but a pain in the bum having to pick them every day before they get too stringy.

You make more friends with your excess runner beans than you do with courgettes!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I made some rather nice runner bean chutney and gave that away.  I also gave about 30 courgettes away, OH and I are currently in dispute about how many courgette plants we need this year, bearing in mind I still have loads in the freezer.

Yes, that sums it up in a very delicate , funny, nice kind of a way.

To be perfectly cruel, you can have damn too many runners, to say the least.

Masha, you can't store frozen veg for more than about 10-12 months, well you can of course, but not really supposed to eat it.

I grew far too many last year (about 48 plants).  all my neighbours ran when they saw me shouting "NO MORE RUNNER BEANS"

I picked a BIG (HUGE) bucket full every 2 days for about 6 weeks

We'll start using everything up before we get the next lot.  I don't really believe that anyway, once it's frozen it's frozen, and it's all veg so I'm not worried.

Exactly what I was thinking

The guys in work love the fact they get free Vegetables, not just Runner Beans. Some even like the fact I plant extra seeds and bring them in after I have planted what I can and let them take what they can grow in there gardens

Personally, (just to balance the argument) I think that even one runner bean is too many!  And I mean the beans, not the plants!  Nasty yucky vile things!  Just my humble opinion!!
