Propagation help please!
« on: March 23, 2008, 14:57 »
Started sowing my annual flower seeds a couple of weeks ago in my frost free greenhouse in a propagator.

Most have germinated but my question is; when is it safe to remove the new seedlings from the propagator?

I would do it asap so that they don't get to soft.  But make sure the greenhouse is frost free and cover them with a couple of layers of fleece overnight until they become stronger.

Cheers Aunt Sally. I have a propane gas heater set to about 5 degrees so I should be ok regarding frost.

You mention covering with fleece overnight - would seed trays with plastic lids be ok?

Certainly especially as you have the gas heater.
