I know a few. Don't think they want to live in though.

More like London you get that kinda service, have you just moved by any chance?

This is the crazy thing...we moved in 7yrs ago!!! lol
We have a 3acre plot and have realised our dream of a kitchen garden wont happen without help. The farmhouse was semi derilict and we are still working on restoring it, we have done it mostly ourselves which we are proud of. Its in a very beautiful countryside spot, mountain views and so very tranquil!
We have separate accommodation, so thought someone might want to live the good life  along side us?
Theres just the two of us, but working full time and restoring the house sadly doesnt leave time a garden requires. We just about find the time for the sheep, lambs and hens. Which provde our eggs and meat.
I have fenced a kitchen garden area off (so my sheep dont help themselves), erected a greenhouse and created two large raised beds, a fruit area has been rotovated/plated up, ive bought seed, sets etc but the person that was going to help has let me down and moved to a new area.
Sorry for going on....Im just at a junction and dont know what to do for the best!
Any advice / strategies greatly appreciated as I just dont know what to do

Oh, dear, you couldn't find one for such a long time? Then you probably tried all sorts by now, local advertising, etc.

I'm sorry, I don't have many ideas right now, not much help, sorry.

Actually we have only just started looking in the past few months, as we have been firefighting getting the house in shape. we just got central heating a few weeks ago after 7yrs....yippeee

so far we have tried just internet searching via posts on gumtree and word of mouth.
today i plant to go talk to our local allotment members. I have not tried advertising locally but will put some adds in the local shops, community noticeboards today.

Well, Diddy Dave, might be just right for you!

If not Angie, have you tried the River Cottage forum?  I'm sure someone on there was looking for a job on a smallholding not long ago, but can't remember if it was temp or permanent

www.rivercottage.net

or the smallholding magazine's site which also has a forum.

http://www.smallholders-forums.co.uk/

Good luck with it!   Sounds like you've been working really hard!

OOOPs, that was the wrong smallholder forum, but still worth a try?  this is the one I meant to put on here!!!

http://www.smallholder.co.uk/smallholderforums/         SORRY!!!!!

Possibly this one too????

Never feel in despair when growing veg - if you were Monty Don you'd wear silly trousers and have a team of people to do the work, so just enjoy what you can do.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
