Any ideas how I can keep the cats off my bed, is fleece or netting any good?

I would say yes. If they can't have a dig then they should just move on.

There was a thread a couple of weeks ago about this. various suggestions including netting, cotton zig-zagged across, fleece, etc.

Or a dog tied to a stake in the middle would also work but probably not approved by the RSPCA. (love dogs and cats really)  :)

Keep the door shut.

Netting will also have the added bonus of keeping the darned birds off too.  Also, a supersoaker will convince them to go somewhere else.

My garden is over run with moggies.. Fortunately, I happened upon a really effective way of keeping them off the raised beds. I have a row of Hawthorns running the length of one side, and around about now, it needs a blumin good haircut! -  I use the good strong off-cuts ( those with very nasty looking spikes ) to provide a hawthorn fence around my beds. Also, I dig over a little moggy loo somewhere out of the way, and they will use that instead!
