FREE Swede plants
« on: May 14, 2023, 14:44 »
If anyone lives near Anglesey, i have a tray of swede plants in modules i don't need, there is about 40 plants.
I have planted what i need so who ever wants them can have them.
Or my chickens can enjoy them.

I'm a bit too far away unfortunately. So do Swede grow ok after being sown in modules and then planted out. Most seed suppliers say sow direct as they have a long tap root. I have some seed ready to be sown and I was thinking modules / pots.
I did sow some purple top Milan turnips (similar to Swede) in pots earlier in the year and planted them out and they seem to be thriving with plenty of green tops. Hope they swell out soon :nowink:

i find starting off in the greenhouse an advantage for me, and the slugs don't get a feast on all my hard work.
The ones i have planted out are doing very well, i have used some slug pellets to help stop the little nasties.
