Aw!  another happy lot of rehomed ex batts.  Just you wait as their confidence grows, so does their cheekiness.  They'll keep you amused for hours.  Sometimes when i come home from work I don't want to talk to anyone I just sit outside with the hens, i'ts bliss.

I might put a chair in the green house (just next to chooks) so i can sit in the warm and watch them!  I just opened the curtains and looked out at the coop - hubby laughed his head off and asked if i wanted them to sleep in our bed tonight!

I've had a PM from someone worrying that the coop and run are far to small and not secure.

Just to clear up that they will get time out of the run soon but only once they've settled down and know that the coop is home and bed (would hate to stress them out by having to chase them)  and i will make the nest box fox proof asap!

I hope this puts your everyones mind at rest.

As youve said they are only getting used to their life outside the battery and what you have given them is lovely, along with all the love and attention these are going to be well loved and spoilt. Another few weeks and they will be running around your garden and going into their little palace when they want and at night to sleep. You are doing a magnificent job, go and enjoy your girls. :D  :D

Thanks Viv  I really didn't mind recieving the PM at all - they let me know how easy it is to have a fox break in via the nest box!   So its avoided a lot of heartache.  I just worried that someone else might be worrying about them so thought i say something public.  :D

I just found another egg!!! So thats 4 hens and 5 eggs in 18hours!!! I've told them to chill out and that they can retire now!!!

Ah such a lovely topic, I am wondering now if I can get ex batts here   Dare not tell OH my wonderings  I have a chair in 1 pen but not the other one  -  yet. I have an old plastic dog bed with a plank of wood on it and every time Lily and I sit on it to feed and watch chooks, she forgets and I stand up first, she goes flying       dont know what hurts most, the landing or the pride    I am such a wicked mummy
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!!
