Hello Everyone.
Babe dropped me home at about 3pm and i've been settling in my ladies!!!
Opened the boxes straight onto the lawn and 3 of them huddled together looking a little terrified. But one was straight out nosing into everything so we've decided to call her 'Mrs Bennet'. I put them into their new home's run and they stood still for about 30 mins looking a little shocked. they're very happy to be handled and hubby melted straight away and was fussing over them like a new dad. What feathers they do have are really soft (i didn't expect that).
I sat by the window giving them some space to settle but just had to go back out there armed with a few grapes! The baldest one just loved that and even took it straight from my hand...... one headed for the coop and straight onto the roosting bar at about 4.30pm and didn't come back out (i hope she's ok).
At about 5pm they got very brave and pecked around rosey and eating loads. It's getting really cold now tho' so i've just put them in their coop and locked up for the night.
My first day over as a chicken owner - bliss
