I am going to be working away in October and November when I would ideally like to plant my broad beans.  Is it possible to plant them in September, or am I asking for trouble planting this early?  Thanks!

I have more recently been planting mine in late Feb at home in pots and planting them out when they are 10cm tall. Usually 2 two a pot and only around 15 pots .I do put up some protection to the weather and they doo] seem to do well although crop a little bit later. I found I lost too many over winter to the wind or snow.

I'm with Enfield Glen on planting out broad beans in February/March if not the bringing on of them at home as I plant far too many for that.

I think I’ll do that this year as lost all but 5 of my aquadulce Claudia to weather or mice last winter.
