Not a good year. I have not killed anything....however the slugs and snails have. Echinacia , dahlias, courgettes and most cabbages have fed them well . I also have signs of tomato blight , so cut off the leaves and manging to ripen fruit on the plant so far. Some blossom rot has appeared on one tomato plant. No cucumbers for unknown reason...maybe I manged to mismanage them.
On the bright side I think I am going to provide West London with butternut squash!!!!!!

No signs of blight here yet - but something has been turning my tomato leaves to lace. I have a feeling it's those little green caterpillars now that I can't see so well to squish 'em.

Cauliflowers have been lifted as they came to nothing other than slug food, had 2 tomato roma ripen both with ber, on the plus side thinned the carrots and had them with some peas in mince and potatoes :D Picked some moneymaker today and they are looking really good, was apprehensive about gb with them but they seem fine

Pretty much everything has taken a hammering this year.

I noticed at the beginning of the week that all the toms have blight, about 20 plants.
The sweet corn is non existent.
Strawbs were very short lived.
Cherries were left on the tree too long, my fault.
Raddish almost complete fail.
Beetroot complete fail
One cucumber
lettuce, complete fail
Chilli complete fail
Sweet pepper complete fail
Raspberries complete fail
Carrots seem OK
Runners about 20% of usual
Charlotte spuds not too bad
Courgettes, 6 turned into 2kg marrows  :D
Parsnips look OK but I haven't had a rummage yet.
Sorrel brilliant.

All in all, a fairly usual failing BR season..this time next year though, we're going to be self sufficient!!

This hasn’t been a great year ( unless you happen to be a slug or a blight spore). Apart for the ongoing battle with blight, my Swift potatoes were devoured by slugs and snails. Weirdly, the charlottes planted right next to  them did ok. My brassicas were instantly targeted by cabbage white butterflies  and I had to go down on all fours daily to squish the eggs and caterpillars, plus I think the foxes enjoy tearing across the plot and they snapped a couple of plants 😡. My Ellison’s orange apples all have a resident grub. I’m also noticing mildew on my grapes, that’ll be the next thing.
What did well? Sweetcorn. Swiss chard, beetroot.

Flea beetle almost eat all my Mustard spinach. Completely eat at my chard overnight. Beetroot eat by flock of birds. Have covered with insect netting and some making a comeback.
Tomatoes poor this year. Only thing to produce so far in the greenhouse is beefsteak tomatoes in abundance. A few russian tomatoes (can't remember name) rippening. Outside very poor showing from hanging baskets. I have to plant out winter salads, giant winter spinach and another attempt at chard.
Not looking good weather wise.
Forgot Broccollette also wiped out by beetle.
And Pulsane
