Chinese Artichokes or "Crosnes"

I've just (with great excitement) ordered some tubers online to put in our allotment - does anyone have any experience of growing them that they would like to share ? I've never grown them before

First year I'm going to grow them, well they are planted, so I was warned by all, very rampant as mint, use containers, otherwise not a problem.

I wanted to try these 'cos they look unusual.  What do they taste like?  When I see them I imagine they must be a bit nutty...?

Looks like an ideal candidate for one of our baths then !
Yes, they are quite nutty, a bit like jerusalem artichokes. They are really nice sauteed. They look like little maggots, and are very popular in France
