Should I stop my tomatoes now
« on: July 25, 2020, 11:23 »
My tomatoes ( Black Russian and ferline) are doing well touch wood. Most plants have 2 trusses of 4-6 full size tomatoes which are now green to yellow. They also have a flower truss at the apex. Should I cut this off? As I am assuming they will not have time to turn into fruit? Or let them carry on? There are also apical flower trusses. I am also removing the side shoots and pruning back a lot of the leaves to try and protect against Blight. I am growing outdoors in London

I'd let them carry on growing, worst case scenario, if they escape blight - is you get left with some green tomatoes to ripen indoors or making chutney with :)

Thanks mum. I have a killer recipe for green tomato chutney so I’ll leave well alone!
