Monty Don was putting them in last week & ive only just planted my rather small plants out. I’d do them in pots & put somewhere warm to germinate then plant them out as soon as they have their first proper leaves. You might not get monsters but you should get something. They’ll not grow in the packets 😊

As most of those I planted earlier got slugged to death, I've sowed a few direct over the last few days - you can only keep your fingers crossed for some decent weather to give them a chance.

I was late last year and although they did grow on the crop was not the best.
I would suspect a lot will be down to the weather and what we get.
