I had success last year germinating parsnip seeds by putting them on dampened kitchen roll, on a plate with cling film across the top. Kept the kitchen roll dampened and plate on windowsill indoors. Took about 10 days, then potted on until about 1” high before planting on plot.

Recent sun has help some of my seeds along.  Not sure what is wrong with the cabbage ones (single tray photo) though, the seedlings seem to be dying.

I only popped  into the greenhouse to sow some (very late) onion seeds.  I think I must have gone into some sort of trance because when I came to I had sown onions - 3 varieties, leeks - two varieties, tomatoes - Fantasio, Trinidad Perfume chillies, Excel cabbage, courgettes - three types, little gem lettuce, Webb's type lettuce, Masterpiece Green Longpod broad beans, asters and zinnias.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

The seedlings in the middle tray in particular look as if they could do with more light (bending towards the light source and a bit straggly.) I'd try to get the them nearer the best source of light you have available, swapping the trays round if necessary.

DD's 'aluminium foil trick' may also help by reflecting some of the light back onto the seedlings.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

In the polytunnel I directly sowed some radish seeds and in plugs: Golden Acre cabbaage, Kohl rabi, spring onions and some parsley. Happy days are here!

I used to really enjoy sowing seeds it was the start of the growing season and a ritual, now I have to admit I find it a necessary evil.

Yesterday :
40 cells spring onions - time was Id have sown them individually  ::)
20 cells swiss chard
20 cells beetroot

I also managed to drop the full, open packet of coriander seeds off the bench and on the GH border, much like toast always does it landed upside down; you could consider those sown as there was no way I could pick them out.

1 & 50 % compost from the same bin & 50 % multipurpose compost
1 x 100% compost from my Berkeley compost heap
1 x  50% compost from my Berkeley compost heap & 50% multipurpose compost

I have sown more chillis and tomatoes to join the ongoing batch:  Tumbling Toms (for hanging baskets), Purple Tiger (pretty) and Poblano (a real fav) chillies - just cause I have more seed and, well, sunny days are getting to me.  Also seakale (crossing my fingers here ) and angelica.

Still staring at pots of chillies and toms that have not errupted yet...but the celeriac is showing now :D
I can resist anything except temptation.

Sungold X6

Gardeners delight x 6
Green tomatillo x 6
Pineapple tomatillo x6 (last years self seeded were useless)

The sweet peppers all need resowing and I've found a packet of California reaper in the seedbox.

Pepper day yesterday... my daughter is growing enough chillies this year for both of us so didn't think I needed to sow more chillies as well. Also as I am only growing for myself this year I sowed 6 seeds of each, apart from Dedo de Moca which is an aji -type and said daughter would like a couple of plants, so put in 9 seeds

Mixed Sweet Peppers (from Kings Seeds)
Dedo de Moca (seed Circle 2018)
Marconi Long Red (magazine give away)
Cherrry Bomb (Seed Circle 2018)

Gogorez (Marshalls) still to be sown. I know I have some somewhere but the packet seems to have vanishes=d so ssetn for more yesterday (Marshalls, free p&p) and stopped searching. If the others do turn up in some mysterious way I can use them next year

I only went into the greenhouse to pick salad leaves.  That turned into a shunt round session with things moving to the mesh topped cold frame outside.  Then I swear one of Jaydig's trances must have got me

More cabbage and sweet peas sown,
Spinach, Komatsuna, Brokali and Chinese Sweet Sprouting Cauliflower,
Autumn and winter leeks,
Leaf celery and parsley,
Beetroot Albino, kohl rabi, radish and finally .... 2 types of calendula

I think I need to watch these greenhouse trances.  They are dangerous to succumb to.  I only stopped because I ran out of compost

I don't know if it happens to you, too, Snowy, but I can be taken unawares by one of these trances in garden centre's seed departments as well. ::)

After reading that I can't help but think it would look wonderful on my headstone.
