I have germinated my courgette seeds in small pots and they have been happy outside for some days.

I am going away at the weekend for a month but the courgette plants have only just started getting their first real leaves. Can I plant them out at this early stage or will this fail?

I know that the chance of a late frost has not yet passed but if that happens the whole plot is doomed.

Coud you pot them on into largish pots and leave them with a neighbour to look after until you return? Where you live it seems a good chance of cold weather at night, if not exactly frosts and the courgette plants would sulk

Hi Grubby if you are away for a month I think you may have to take a chance. They won’t like staying in small pots for a month. You could repot into larger pots and leave them outside in a sheltered spot. Whatever you do I would suggest some form of protection from a cloche or cold frame.
You also need to consider watering as courgettes need a lot of water.

Why not. Pot them into larger pots, keep outside the campervan, water when necessary,  put the pots into a cardboard box if travelling and they should be a perfect size for planting when you get home.
I regularly camp and have even seen fruiting tomato plants outside tents.

I had some Hungarian Wax and Jalapeno peppers in my campervan last week. Put them in the cab at night, and out during the day, when not driving. Don't leave them to roast in the cab during the day, a bit like your pet dog really.

Sink the pots into the soil outside, cover them with a cloche, and take anti-slug measures.
