I just wondered if someone could answer this topic I think I had mentioned this in a previous topic but can't remember if anyone replied on this

so I thought ask again I mite get a reply  because although a very good potato harvest slug damage is a real pain so hopefully someone mite come up with some sound advise

Some people plant some slug pellets with the seed, and then again while earthing up. You can also grow varieties that are more slug-resistant.
Note slug resistant not slug proof, as they all get attacked in a wet year, or if they're left too long in the ground.

slugs definitely love some varietys.
nematodes are good to control the underground ones that I find causes the most problems.

Slugs certainly love Lady Balfour.  I've tried them for three seasons now, hoping for a different result, but they always come out of the ground looking like colanders.

I second nematodes. My potatoes got hammered by slugs in the first two years of my allotment. Now, a couple of applications in Spring and almost all of them are edible, the small amount of slulg damage can easily be cut out.
