Anyone grow Genovese basil year-round? What size container do you use for indoor growing (in a warm house)?

My shop bought basil plants failed this year so as my test germinated seeds have sprouted, I'm very eager and finding it difficult to compost them. Especially as I love home-made pesto.

Mine are still fine on my balcony. I think they mainly need a lot of light and to be kept quite moist but not sopping. At the first sign of frost they pack up though.

Hi noshed, how large did yours grow to in your pots? Did you plant each one individually or as a group?

I put 2-3 in a 6" pot. they've grown about 5" although I keep pulling leaves off. And they still seem to be happy now, although I might put them in my plastic greenhouse soon.
Next year I'll plat more they seem to be easy and basil is lovely.

I`ve never managed to keep basil going inside,I always get whitefly,though where this comes from is a mysyerty.I grew lots outside this year and after I discovered that I should not be taking single leaves but pinching out longer bits of stem leaving a few leaves behind ,they took off.I`m going to harvest those left and try to freeze them though most went in with the toms.
