I have lifted my Albegensian wight garlic today.A good bold sample and definitely ready for lifting.The tubs are 16 inches across and would hold around 5 gallons of water.I have grown 5 bulbs in each pot.The soil mix was 50/50 own compost mixed with mp compost and some grit,for drainage.I have 8 tubs,which will either be tipped in the compost bin or be used to grow an Autumn/ winter crop.
I would be gratefull for some suggestions as to what others grow in the same situation.

I managed to grow PSB in similar tubs. Very nice it was too.  I think I'd probably do spinach, lettuce and courgettes or french beans. Not an overwintercrop.

Autumn carrots. They don't need much oomph and they will like the grit/sand, won't fork, and are easily protected from fly in tubs.

I am going to try french beans in the ex garlic bed, will add a bit of home compost and growmore to help them.
