Tomato virus in compost?
« on: August 06, 2016, 18:35 »
My greenhouse tomatoes have a virus and I am going to have to burn the plants.  Normally I put the compost from the used growbags on my allotment but I'm wondering if it may harm other plants that I grow there.  I don't grow tomatoes on the allotment. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

As long as you keep it away from any potatoes it should be ok

How do you know it's a virus?
What are the symptoms?

When the plants were about12" high the leaves started curling upwards and then the lower leaves browned and wilted.  I put them into the greenhouse anyway and they didn't improve - irregular growth and very few fruits.  I looked it up on the internet and the symptoms seemed to indicate a virus.
