Did you add manure or Fish Blood & Bone when you planted them? if so they shouldn't need any more feeding.

If you didn't you can add a little to the soil surface now, and tickle it in.

They will be fine for this year. A sprinkle of Blood, Fish & Bone next February or thereabouts will help them then.

I have Polka too... they are huge, juicy raspberries so are well worth growing

That sounds right. Mine have only got very small shoots on some of them and none on others. They will grow at least 1m tall though and flower late Summer, so don't worry

I put 6 different varieties in about 2 weeks ago, and 4 have good growth, one has sprouted a bit, and one has hardly any growth at all.

I'm hoping that they will all take off soon.  Unfortunately our weather has been awful for April, very cold and wet, compared to the warm weather we normally have in France at this time of year.

I put 12 new canes in three months ago and thay all seem to be at various stages. Leaf growth on two, buds opening on others and buds just starting to emerge on others. They're just babies. Doubt if they'll make fruit this year.

My Polka are two years old. The first year I had 10 canes, last year it was about 100, this year my 20ft x 6ft bed is showing growth all over (lost count). I spread a little BFB on the bed and put some compost on before any growth showed. We had lots of raspberries last year, this year it we might have lots more!!
