i have been offered mushroom composts .any one any ever used it . any thoughts on it. cheers wrinkly1

It's good stuff for everything except potatoes as it tends to have lime in it, which makes the pots scabby.

Not so good for blueberries either, come to think of it!

Excellent mulch, not potatoes though.  Excellent soil conditioner.  Makes the area you have covered look really pretty.  Easy to dig in the autumn.

We used to get it delivered when i had my lottie. great soil conditioner and often free mushrooms too.

I really like using it as it smells lovely, makes your soil more friable, looks good on it, easy to rot down and / or dig in. I get it locally at £1 per bag (size of a large bag of coal). I haven't found it a problem with pots but my soil is only just above neutral pH. It's amazing how quickly it disappears into the ground so I need to do it twice a year.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
