Cherry Belle is a fast grower and very crisp, and Patty's Plum is large and purple. I find I French Breakfast get little marks in the white section in my ground and so don't look so good, although they taste fine of course

I love Cherry Belle, and Gigante di Sardo, which is also a large, round radish is brilliant.  I find that both of these can be grown to a very large size, and still stay crisp and peppery.  They suit the ground that I have, and seem to perform better for me than French Breakfast.

Have grown French breakfast, sparkler and Scarlet for many years.
All good croppers and mild, Sparlker is a little peppery.
Do always sow a pack of mixed round radish, nice to get the many differeing varieties.

Did try Vienna a few years back, it had an odd spicy flavour not to many peoples liking.
If you can find it and like your radish very hot try Flamboyant Sabina, seems to be rare these days.

Radish are not the easy crop that many people assume.

The best crops are from early Spring sowings. Summer crops are fickle and often bolt or get woody.

I sow radish with parsnips. The radish come up quickly and show where the row is. They are harvested leaving the parsnips to grow.

Flea beetle can chew shot holes in the leaves. Cabbage root fly can tunnel into the roots leaving tiny brown burrows.

We introduced a class for radish in our local summer show. Very few entries. Great skill, or luck, needed to get perfect roots in high summer.
