Sungold always seem to romp away don't they!

We're half-way through ours (twenty or so plants), but the Marmande, Gourmet, Black Krim are only just starting to go light green!

And we may get the first ever Crimson Crush today...

Yes, they do seem pretty big don't they!

There are only two proper trusses though, but they were free from Dobies, so gift horse an' all that...

I've been finding that the Crimson Crush do indeed have a lovely taste. A good size tomato but just a shame that it's not tall enough for more than two trusses.

I've had a couple of Crimson Crush and to be honest, they were nothing to write home about.

I never thought I would write this but, unfortunately I've not had any blight at the allotment yet so I can't tell if they are more resistant than my sacrificial plants.

I'm wondering about saving seeds and trying to grow them next year, if the parents are both blight resistant anyway.

Had to cut down all my toms on the plot - still mean to make some green tom chutney.
The toms at home are still all green but they only get afternoon sun, hopefully some of the Novas will turn soon as they are very pale and have been that size since forever

I have a few in the greenhouse of differing varieties (grown in re-purposed flower buckets, equal thirds of clay soil, manure, and compost) and they are gently cropping a few at a time so every couple of days I can eat a tomato based meal.

The outdoor Ferline is at a slightly slower pace, but the outdoor Losetto is cropping nicely.

I started them all off indoors initially, them potted on in the greenhouse before final positions.

If they start cropping faster then I shall have to think of preserving.

They're like No9 buses, you wait for ages, then you spot one in the distance, and there's another one just behind it. Next thing you know. (hopefully), you don't know what to do with them all.

And next thing you know, the tomato moth has struck again ! Grr! Saw some telltale signs last week but only just found him. Sorted with the scissors.

Yep. Tomato moth. Had them for the last 3 years. The bugg"rs eat into the tomato and poo everywhere. In fact that is usually the first sign that you've got them. They start off as little green caterpillars then grow to big brown uns. Keep a look out.
