None here either but I am glad as one old boy says my runner beans cause too much shade.

Yep we do. Our rules essentially say don't do it.

It means my shed is in the wrong place for my plot, but shade doesn't go on my neighbours' plots.

Having the rule usually means people are careful, but there have been a few sheds put up in the wrong place recently and if there's a complaint it will have to be dealt with by the committee.

Yes, we've got rules where sheds and trees can grow to cut down on the problem

some shade is good, and will often offer shelter from the wind too. just use it to your advantage.

Not directly but shed applications have to be approved.

I don't believe so, but most folks are considerate of casting excess shade. There is a path (in theory 1m, in practice smaller) between plots so there is some grace anyhow.

I left a gap between the path and my greenhouse to reduce risk of damage more than anything, but the gap and the path means it only casts a bit of shadow on my neighbour's plot in winter - when he has stripped the earth bare anyways.

I have plot neighbours on two sides of me, so less to worry about, I inherited a shed that casts shade only over my plot but I cannot be bothered to move it. If I did there is a hedgerow all along that (southern) length that casts shade anyhow so it's not such a huge amount of light I am losing due to the shed.

Not formally.  I did apologise to my neighbour when I sited my shed, but he just said it would give some shelter so wasn't really an issue.
