Too cold, too damp here. They'll just go rotten.

4 weeks at least yet.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Here in the NW of England I generally sow about the end of Match or early April, depending on soil temperature.
99% Organic and 1% Slug Pellets.

Allotment holder since 27th May 2007.

I've got plastic cloches in place and will sow first peas at end of this month.
We come from the earth, we return to the earth, and in between we garden.

It will also depend on the weather at the time. I only grow sugar snaps and have sown them in April. They do fine and later sowing also catch up on earlier ones. Try some in both March and April and see what happens.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

For those of us who can't resist the sweet taste of fresh peas in April, and wish to avoid DD's annual slam dunk on the matter :),  sow them in the Autumn in your cold greenhouse, and cover the odd bitter night with fleece.

Below are my peas smugly basking in this morning's lovely sunshine just starting to climb the trellis... they'll be flowering 3 weeks. Not a huge crop, but enough for a few meals and early season plot treats. Very little trouble, just need to ward off meeces the first few weeks, and a bit of beer for slugs. Sown on 28 October.

I don't think DD will mind me linking to his diary, but he has also sown some to grow in his greenhouse.

http://chat.allotment-garden.org/gardeners-diaries/37/digger-daves-diary/69457/msg1386546#msg1386546

and that's what reminded me to sow mine  :D
The outside ones can wait about a month though  ;)
