Rhubarb offcuts

When picking rhubarb can you trim the stems and give them to the chooks, straight from the plant.

Rhubarb is poisonous to chooks. I assume this includes the stems

They normally only go for the leaves which are poisonous, so let them peck but not deliberately give them the leaves.
Remember to wash hands as it will make you ill. Compost the leaves.

Leaves contain a poison, so when twisting the leaves of wash your hands very well. I normally top and tail the stems.
you can make a herbicide with the leaves.

The compost heap seems the best idea.
