Sweet peppers in stoney ground
« on: May 02, 2014, 17:11 »
Can you help ?

I have around 6 sq metres of stoney ground on my plot  i can dig down to around a foot then things get pretty soild (so shallow roots would be best )

I was thinking ...sweet pepper , chillies and dwarf beans  but would appreciate your opinions

Thanks Bob

Could you clarify if you are in Italy or the UK, please Bob?  (And edit your forum profile to say whereabouts you generally are).  This will probably make a difference to the replies  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

In the interim, if you are in the UK then I think peppers and chillies usually do best under cover.

Dwarf beans, salads, beetroot would be happy for starters.

Edit: just seen your reply re. location.  If you could add it to your forum profile it will stop us getting confused in the future :)

Thanks Yorkie , will sort profile out just been more of a reader then a poster in the past  :)

Going to try sweet peppers out cause i brought 18 plants today cheaply , my worries where more around root depth and the stoney ground.

It a real shame to wast the space
