Sweet Candle Carrot F1
« on: April 24, 2014, 19:27 »
Hi,

Has anyone ever grown or heard of Sweet Candle Carrot F1 ?
Someone on our site has said that its a new 'Wonder Carrot'.
I've never even heard of it but I'm looking for a Carrot variety to sow as well as my Autumn King.

Thanks in advance.

I've never grown it but have got a packet of seeds. It appears on the show benches very regularly.

Excellent strong growth, very uniform stump ended type. Is the very best variety for exhibitors, when they are usually grown in holes cored in sand, filled with very fine compost. Thinly sowing some seed in containers or big pots that are a foot deep or more deep, filled with any potting compost will also give brilliant results, as will just growing straight in the ground.
They also make for excellent eating.

Well worth a try.
