Ok the early bird and all that but I love sweetcorn lol
I pre-chitted it as always but I didnt plant until the green bits came through. Much easier to stand up in a pot, I did the same last year which didnt harm it at all. They are now upstairs happily in pots between 1-2 inches high am I the only daft early bird LOL

BQ - far too early - at least a month early... in my view..  Unless you plant in a heated poly..

Yup, just showing.  The polyhouse has a temp today of 40 degrees (the gauge in right on top of the sweetcorn!) before I vented it, just chancing an early batch. well snuggled up at night.

When  you say 'pre-chitted' does that mean germinated? Like you would with seed not a potato?
I'm new to this!

I put mine one per module, throw them on the heated propagator and in 3 days they start to poke through.. no need to pre chit in my house. Last week in April mine normally get sowed.. No faf and 98% germination last 2 years from 300 odd seeds sowed.. Normally about 3-4 weeks from sowing to plant out in the plot.

Last year I didnt sow enough and started some Incredible off on 23 May - by 9 June they were 5" high and planted out..

Then found another bed to grow more so sowed some Earlibird on 7 June and planted out 24 June... and I had a brilliant crop from them as well.  That's 16 days from sow to plant out..
