Found the place OK, lovely people, masses of fowl, stunning weather. Boxed up three female runners....then they started to open all the houses and a trio of young light sussex jumped into the car....not sure how it happened!

That sort of thing happens to me when I go bird buying as well    Light Sussex are nice looking hens and good layers.  It would have been rude not to take them

Too right! They are young so have some maturing to do. But seeing all the different breeds...it was so hard. I wanted lots! I have never seen so many ducks, geese, chickens of all sizes, turkeys in all colors, all mingling and happy. Good job they're so far away.

Got my first ever jar of pickled walnuts and a crate of seed potatoes too. Lovely people

Trouble getting to sleep last night despite being very tired yesterday eve, finally got to sleep around 2ish now up again.

I was just reading about the full moon this month being the first Christmas Day full moon since 1977, it got me wondering if anyone else has trouble sleeping around the time of a full moon (no need for the werewolf jokes, not noooooooow!). I've noticed it in the past, I'm not a good sleeper at the best of times but worse at full moon time.

I don't sleep well, but I don't think that has anything to do with the moon! More likely old age and hormones. It is very light out at night at the moment as we are having a prolonged period of clear skies, but I only see it if I go to the loo.

Just sorting out cakes and mince pies for the neighbours and post office. Not planning on doing much today, if the weather is as it was yesterday I will be sitting outside in the sun, might pick and peel some sprouts and carrots.

Nope    Just popped in to see if I needed to clean up the party poppers and empty glasses from last night 

Its grey and mild here, so it sounds like you have much better weather than us Tosca.  Merry Christmas and enjoy the sun

I've been AWOL here for a while - been so busy with work and a course on top of that. Lots of extra shifts looking after the hearts of the south-west of England over the festive period too.
