Benefits of less traffic mean I can get more done before setting off this morning - just having breakfast before having a shower whereas I'm normally leaving St this time!

Pretty frosty here this morning.... looks lovely through the window.

Woken at 2:15am by Out of Hours doctor's phone call to tell me he's making a referal.... so more than 24 hours wait and no doctor coming out after 111 phone call

"Thanks for the early morning call doc. Skip the request for help.. my mother's heart is still working after 94 years. You go see to the drunken party goers and I'll visiit our GP for the day later in the morning and ask for his help. Her chest pains are no worse, her oxygen levels 80 so only about 10 or so down.... she' s no more confusef & unstable than she was.... Nice of you to apologise but harfly worth waking us at 2:15 to tell us you are too busy..

Our pet rabbit gets better treatment :(

Totally agree with DBG.

Don't deal with the out of hours doctor service just ring for an ambulance.

Have had to do similar recently on a couple of  occasions.  And on both occasions after I apologised for calling  them the ambulance guys  told me that my call had been the only real emergency they had attended that shift.

And they agreed with my comments about the out of hours doctor service.

Fun (?)  in the early hours:

I did dial 111 and was told no docs available so ambulance on its way. Arrived speedily. Refused trip to A&E then 4 hours waiting on a trolley. ECG done at home... abnormal heart so low oxygen... told doc would call and decide to visit same day or Sunday.

Phone call 2:30am.... lovely... just got to sleep. Told doc on end of phone not to bother... I phoned own GP. They sent out a clinition..so still not seen doctor but promised our GP would be shown pint out of ECG and make decision about next step care...... not holding my breath about hearing from them tomorrow.

Meanwhile cat has same day appointment at vet... treated and home all sorted.
Pays to be a cat or rabbit.

Formal complaint considering it when I have the energy.

Paul, was it you / your mum who refused the trip to A&E, or the ambulance crew who refused to take your mum?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Paul, was it you / your mum who refused the trip to A&E, or the ambulance crew who refused to take your mum?

My mother did not want to go and I fully support her decision. Therr would have been no emergency treatment just oxygen, blood samples & more monitoring.... maybe asprin. She has remained conscious throughout just very tired, a bit muddled with mild pain on occasions.

This evening the same chap from surgery phoned... a surprise. Consulting with doc they have prescribed asprin - suspect a heart episode / mild attack. No suggestion of blood tests but I will ask tomorrow when I go to collect transcript of phone call that I requested this evening. My mum is 95 in a few days time... surgery  would not be an option. Managing the condition is.

She id eating well, not in pain, comfortanble at homr (ovrr thr road
