Just had a weird dream I ended on the wrong side of the river and had to climb up the bank to re trace my steps.

Morning all. Wet and quite cold here - not nice for sorting the hens at 6 o'clock.

Spoke too soon. It started drizzling while I was doing my early morning weeding and is now coming down in stair rods. Amazing how warm the soil is though.

Morning. We have a lovely pink sky at the moment, hopefully that means a nice day. Woke an hour and a half ago scratching, I have a whole new batch of lumps where the bitey things attacked while I was weeding yesterday. Now some rather large animal is scratching about and moving stuff around in the loft space above my head which is open ended.

The problem is, I start to do something then move on to weeding or harvesting and forget to spray. The bitey things have been vicious and all day with the wet weather. When it's really hot they retire and the 'ordinary' flies take over. They joys of living in a close, rural community!

I am sitting here staring out of the window at the horror that is the courgette patch. I have never seen such huge plants, the local pale variety being much bigger and more lush than the dark ones grown from British seeds. I think a carrier bag of large courgettes left out on the lane is in order, someone will have them for their animals, our fowl are fed up with them.
