Erm I'm not sure even hanging baskets would be safe from ours. I think they've just discovered they're birds and seem to really enjoy flying everywhere. The treat our garden with the various things in it like one great big fun obstacle course.

Daffodils and snowdrops, I put in hundreds of 'wet' snowdrops last year and they din't even glance at them in the tray. They are coming up beautifully this year and not even touched by the birds. Anything from the onion family like leeks etc.

Hope this helps.

Orchard lady.

Mine have attempted to eat everything over the years, even blinking foxgloves arghhh.  I am afraid if they can't eat them and they are in a sunny spot then they sit on them so I have started putting chicken wire around some of the areas till the plants are flowering and quite tightly packed into the area before taking the wire down and getting hopefully a month out of the display, but, once one goes in and starts either eating or more likely digging then they are all in.  I generally have shrubs, all varying heights and try and plant some perennials around and have some tubs that I plant up more heavily and stick CD's around the edge to deter them getting in again until the plants are up, but, the chickens bring such delight that I am prepared to forgo having a perfect garden :D
