I transplanted some "Summer Marvel" lettuce plantlets into their permanent quarters in between the tomato plants,  and potted on some saved butternut seedlings.  Watered some previously sown seeds and then called it a day as it's sooooooo hot!
Now what shall I do today?

I sowed in and tidied the greenhouse whilst Mike started cutting the polycarb for the new cold frame.. and got wet in the process!

Took lots of nails out of planks.
The asparagus and first potato leaves are showing through.

Emptied my Lottie shed and removed the tools... hoed the plot top to bottom.

Noticed a huge number of tiny plums on my not-so-dwarf Victoria Plum tree.
Strawberries begining to flower well too.
Shallots looking good.
Carrots... I put the seed in but

2 potato plants up....
(the only two seed-potatoes I left in the ground) the other 58 came home again with me. ;)

Weeded the raspberries, which seem to attract a lot of grass!
Took apart a cloche that had broken.
Earthed up potatoes in readiness for the frost on friday!
Mused a lot about all the stuff I'm going to do and probably won't!!!! lol :D

planted out the peas, they were desperate to get out of their gutters.  I will have to fleece them if the frost appears.

Two visits today, the first one aborted due to torrential rain. By the end of the 2nd visit Mike had finished the cold frame, repaired a bed, sorted "hanging" facilities for the doors of the Strawberry cage, and put holes in 12 of the trio strawberry planters.  I meanwhile thought, directed and laid a piece of weed control!

Got sunburned yesterday!  Fixed daughter's polytunnel, intruder decided to pull the polythene away at the back.  They didn't take anything and then left door open.   Weeded.   Sowed carrots, parsnips, radish and borage flowers.  Carted some fire doors we were given for a shed but no longer need to the recycling plot on site. Boy, were they heavy.  Also took some of the ugly old metal fencing we have replaced down there.   OH fixed up the water barrel arrangements on daughter's plot as first attempts were leaking.  Seems OK now.   Much excitement as council contractors brought digger on site to excavate broken pipe and water leak and dug massive hole.   Lots of plotholders spent far too much time staring into the hole.

No plot today as waiting for delivery of grow bags.
Potting on to do at home as courgettes have germinated in three days. That's a record.
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

Yesterday, earthed up the potatoes, planted out the lettuce seedlings and gave everything a good watering. Enjoyed a cup of tea with 4 other fellow plot holders, consequently not much work done :nowink:

Mike made the climbing frames for the Butternuts, and a couple of extra that aren't quite as tall, 1 will probably go to butternuts as well, and the other for the outdoor cues.

I sowed some Asparagus seed, potted out a few Strawbs into containers where the others hadn't taken and enjoyed the sunshine.
