This site useful
Other chooks will enjoy it and no egg withdrawl, but you need to know what egg needs to be destroyed if your hen lays at the mo.
I also chop up a clove of garlic and pop in chooks water in winter.
tonic should be fine, seems similar to avipro.

mrs chook can you get hold of live food from anywhere eg maggots , meal worms

most chooks even if off colour can't resist live wiggly food

In the past when I've had a hen on antibiotics I have boiled their eggs and fed them back to her, but only her.
It saves the eggs and hopefully does some good the the sick one.

did your vet check to see if she had a soft egg inside her - this can be why she wasn't eating and being off colour. If she hasn't been eating her poohs will be watery.
What did the vet say he was giving her anti-biotics for?
Staffies are softer than you think.

vet did a thorough check including her vent etc. she said they sometimes pick up bacterial infection after worming & gave her an injectionint o her chest.

Not sure how many pellets she's had...but picked up some meal worms & a good drink.

Avipro has arrived & will add to water in the morning.

Is she moulting? Sprout who was born early spring has been moulting as she has new neck feathers coming through. All the hens are eating less (all moulting), but are still scratching around outside daily.
Did chuck them some mealworms after dusting them today.

Hi ,

Her crop is clear. Still not eating much...although very interested in the corn i took out before bed & the most she has eaten all week!!

If she is moulting there is no evidence of feather loss.
