I take it this is a blight issue. Hubby has just texted they were fine on friday  hubby is stripping the plants as i write this, plan is to burn plants and ditch any affected toms. Can i green chutney any sound fruits.

Blight starts usually on the leaves, sometimes on the stems, but rarely starts on the fruits themselves, so you may be able to save them if they are big enough to ripen indoors:

(Yes, it does look like blight to me I'm sorry to say.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I thought we were doing so well after some serious repair work on thursday. MR badger cut straight through the plants on his way somewhere.

Oh well at least we can strip the remaining for green chutney, made 12 jars of red already.

Thanks Jay  :)

I did last year when I lost my whole crop to blight. Sorry to hear that some are suffering blight this year. At the moment I am counting my blessings. This is the 1st year of 3 that I have a full crop. So much so I am bagging them up and delivering to neighbours. You might like to gurgle cucumber and green tomato chutney... that will kill your 2 birds :D :D :D :D
