That is good Mrs Chook - sounds as if it was just the heat. Maybe you could rig up more shade for the hens as it seems that this hot spell is going to last for a few days.

They like to throw soil over themselves so make sure they have a dust bath or patch of soil to play in. They spread out their wings and gasp too, which does look a bit alarming.  If they have plenty of shade and clean, fresh water. Keep refreshing that water! They love a fresh drink same as we do   

They do like warm weather but you just need to be more hands-on to make sure they're kept very clean and their housing and bedding is free of muck as it will attract flies in this hot spell.  Poo picking is more intensive when the sun shines but at least the hot sun dries it up quicker so it's easier to collect
