Hestia Runners Beans Stalled....
« on: June 19, 2013, 19:40 »
Evening all.

My hestia runners have been up about 4-5 weeks, but seem to have stalled.

I know they are dwarfs but they are not putting out any tendrils at all. Is this normal?

When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

think it due to the cold nights we been having mine are just not growing and have fallen to the slugs  :(
This is the first age that has ever paid much attention to the future which is ironic since we may not have one !(Arthur c Clarke)

Beans don't have tendrils, certainly not dwarf beans in my experience.

I agree with the others - transplant shock and cool nights.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I must admit, I'm having real struggles getting my hestia to even germinate. The french dwarves have been fine though so might give up on the runners and sow more of them.
