Your plot is the piece of land marked out for you with boundary markers - well, they usually are  ::)

Ask the comittee if the area towards the fence can be used, if it's not already marked out  ;)

Our Council charge per m2 for a full plot that they believe is 125m2 but many are not they are smaller or bigger - so it pays to measure your plot and have them adjust the charges if you find out it's smaller than the standard for full and half plots.

They also provided a plan that had little resemblance to how they allotment was really arranged including where the water taps and butts are located - Suddenly I found that my neighbour has a tap the shed end of my plot and the nearest tap was not miles away as I was expecting.

Our site only has half plots, these can range in size from 100sqm to 145sqm and the average is 120sqm. All plots cost the same. The Council plot plan was drawn up before the site became self-managed, and optimistically includes plots on land that they have conceded is not possible to work...

It's worth asking, I got an extra strip of land when the hedge bordering my plot was redone.
